:: Club History and Profile
Heanor Juniors was established in 1997
consisting of four teams. The teams were originally part of
Heanor Athletic FC, however, after consultations with Heanor
Town FC who were keen to have youth teams that could eventually
feed the senior teams, four managers decided to break away and
form their own club, Heanor Juniors FC.
Although the club has use of the
Town Ground and has links with Heanor Town - especially through
the Under 18's - Heanor Juniors is a completely independent club
with its own FA affiliation, committee and finances.
In 2003 the clubs efforts were
recognised when it was awarded the FA Chartermark Standard - the
first club in Amber Valley. This is a standard that recognises
the clubs commitment to quality by its implementation of
policies and procedures to ensure a safe and structured
environment for our members. All our coaches have a minimum FA
level One coaching award and have attended First Aid and Child
Protection courses.
In order to enable the club to
progress and to continue to offer the best we can to our
members, we have recently put together a development plan to
enable us to apply for the next stage of Chartermark - the Club
Development Award.
